Daniel Izui is a director and cinematographer based in Chicago, Illinois. Izui grew up around the industry and spent much of his youth on set with his father, Richard Izui, a commercial and editorial, photographer and director. Izui is a graduate of Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara,CA and worked in the film industry in Los Angeles for 5 years. Over the past 18 years he has worked on set in nearly every department. His film Annabel won the best actor prize and an honorable mention at the Los Angeles New Wave International Film Festival. Annabel was also selected to screen at the Ventura Film Festival as well as air on WTVP's The Screening Room.
Izui is a former staff Director of Photography for The Onion and Onion Labs. During his time at The Onion/Onion Labs he has worked on campaigns for Boost Mobile, Clorox, Dewars, Diet Dr. Pepper, Pizza Hut, Sling TV, and Quaker State.
Izui currently works as a freelance cinematographer and director.
